Had a great time organizing and serving as a Project Jury member at the Kristu Jayanti University – Airport Road Campus Hackathon (TechVista 2026), representing the Tamilnadu JUG as a community leader.

The hackathon brought together vibrant student developers, creative problem-solvers, and mentors under one roof for an intense day of innovation and teamwork. The energy across the campus was palpable as teams worked round the clock turning novel concepts into functional prototypes.

The evaluation process was competitive with several strong ideas on display across software development, AI, automation, and distributed systems. Reviewing the projects alongside fellow judges gave us deep insights into how quickly students are adopting modern tech stacks and AI-assisted workflows to solve real-world problems.

My Contribution / Learnings

  • Organising & Jury Duties: Served as a Project Jury member and co-organizer representing Tamilnadu JUG, evaluating architectural design, real-world feasibility, code quality, and technical scalability across submitted projects.
  • Keynote Address on Developer Ecosystems: Addressed the gathering of students to highlight why an active developer ecosystem is vital for continuous learning, networking, and long-term career growth.
  • Community Initiatives Announcement: Introduced our flagship community initiatives:
  • Tech Pavilion Opportunity: Announced that the shortlisted hackathon projects will be officially showcased at the upcoming Devcarnival Tech Pavilion, giving these student builders a prominent platform in front of industry leaders.
Addressing students about Dev Carnival and JAVAFEST community initiatives
  1. Student Innovation is Accelerating: With access to AI tooling and open-source ecosystems, students are moving from idea to execution faster than ever. The critical differentiator is now product thinking, system architecture, and robust fundamentals.
